2nd Symposium of the German SIAM Student Chapters

15.08.2013 -

The three German SIAM Student Chapters (Heidelberg, Trier and Magdeburg) met for a joint two-day scientific symposium in mid-August in the premises of the University of Heidelberg. The scientific presentations covered a wide field in applied mathematics. Thus, members gave presentations on nonlinear programming, parameter estimation in ordinary and stochastic differential equation models, optimal control, design of optimal experiments and application examples at an introductory level.

The common evening consisted of an excursion to one of the world's most famous ruin, the Heidelberg Castle, followed by an informal get-together in the historic city center. The second day ended after a further round of lectures with imaginative discussions on the future cooperation of the German SIAM Student Chapters.

Where: IWR, University of Heidelberg
When: August 15-16, 2013. Start on August 15, at 2 p.m.
