About Us

The Student Chapter of SIAM Magdeburg is an association of students at the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg and the Max Planck Institute in Magdeburg.

Our activities include:

  • exchange of information between university and industry in the form of lectures, field trips and workshops,
  • scientific contributions to thematically applications from industry and
  • individual promotion of members.

Students who are interested in current research topics in applied or rather industrial mathematics, are more than welcome!       Contact          Registration

"Hello applied mathematics students in Magdeburg!

Being a student member of SIAM is a free way to get book and conference discounts

as well as other things like SIAM News, but I think the most important benefit is the intangible one -

greater involvement with our exciting field of computational and applied mathematics."

Nick Trefethen (SIAM President, 2011-2012)
